empty-heart-complex-mind:

Andrew Abshere, Refinery29 director of product management, as Ms. Clavel
“We dressed up as the book Madeline, with six people dressed up as her and me as Ms. Clavel, their teacher. One of the Madelines, however, was the truly special one…the one with the beard, that is. Our experience was hysterical—I’d walk all the girls (and one guy) down the street in two straight lines. Guys would be walking the other way, whistling or hollering at all the pretty ladies. Then, as they got to the back of the line, they’d see my friend Brennan, then they’d see me, and I could tell that they were suddenly wondering if ALL the Madelines were men.”

Seven month old Loki the European brown bear cub enjoys himself on a pedalo covered in his favourite treats including strawberry jam and grapes, left in the enclosure by staff at Blair Drummond Safari Park in Scotland.  Picture: Andrew Milligan/PA

Oh my god, I thought it was a paddle boat massacre

I honestly thought the bear had decided he’d had enough of the paddle boaters and ate them.

#I HAD THIS BEAR ALL WRONG

A MISUNDERSTOOD BEAR NAMED LOKI. THAT’S ALL THE WORLD NEEDS RIGHT NOW. ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME.

These images are just so heart-wrenching.  This one is by far one of the saddest. When I think about the parents of the 18 children killed at this horrible incident in Newtown, Connecticut this morning, I can’t help but cry.  Those parents rushed to the school to pick up their children and bring them home to safety, only to watch other parents find their children while they waited to be told their children wouldn’t be coming out.  Those parents will have to live with the pain of knowing their young children went to school like any other morning but will never be coming home again.  Those parents will have to go home and see their child’s bedroom, knowing they won’t be tucking them in and giving them goodnight kisses anymore.  Those parents will have to unwrap and return all the Christmas gifts they bought their children, knowing they were only a few days away from seeing the joy on their children’s faces when they opened them.My heart just feels so heavy thinking of the sorrow they will have to live with every day.  I can’t even imagine how devastating this must be, and I can only hope that I will never have to know the pain of losing a child in my own life.  My thoughts and prayers go out to those parents who had to experience it today.

amelapond:

an american is asked the date. he says “it’s 12/12/12”. someone british prepares themselves to disagree, however, is stuck by surprise. “oh my god, it’s 12/12/12 for me too!” he realizes. they smile at each other. for one day the world is at peace. tomorrow, war will start again, but until then, everyone is happy.
